Frequently Asked Questions

  • Chevron flooring can create the illusion of a larger space in a room, but it depends on the size of the room and the width and length of the chevron pattern. Diagonal lines or patterns can make a room appear larger because they draw the eye towards the corners of the room, creating an illusion of more space. Other factors such as lighting, colour scheme, and furniture placement can also impact the perceived size of a room.

  • Chevron wood flooring is a type of flooring that features a V-shaped pattern. It's created by cutting the planks of wood at a 45-degree angle and then fitting them together in a way that creates a zig zag design. The ends of each board are cut at an angle to create a clean and seamless look. Chevron wood flooring is often compared to another popular type of wood flooring called ‘herringbone’. While both patterns feature angled planks, chevron is characterised by its continuous V-shaped pattern, while herringbone creates a more staggered, zig zag pattern.

  • The installation time for chevron wood flooring can vary depending on several factors, such as the size of the room, the complexity of the pattern, and the experience level of the installer. However, on average, the installation of chevron wood flooring can take between 1 to 3 days for a standard room. It's important to work with a professional flooring installer who has experience working with chevron wood flooring to ensure that the installation is done correctly and efficiently.

  • Yes, chevron wood flooring can be used in commercial settings. In fact, it's a popular choice for many high-end commercial spaces such as bars, restaurants, and hotels. Chevron wood flooring adds a touch of elegance and sophistication, and its durability and low maintenance requirements make it a practical choice for high-traffic areas.

  • Yes, chevron wood flooring can be used in small rooms, but the size and pattern of the chevron may need to be carefully considered in order to avoid overwhelming the space. For example, a smaller room may benefit from a smaller, more intricate chevron pattern, while a larger room may be able to accommodate a larger, bolder pattern.

  • Chevron flooring can add value to any property, but the extent of the value increase will depend on a variety of factors, such as the quality of the flooring, the overall condition of the property. Chevron wood flooring is considered a high-end flooring option that can add a touch of luxury and elegance. This can be especially appealing to those who are looking for unique or high-quality finishes.

  • Yes, chevron flooring can be used on walls as well as floors. Using chevron flooring on walls can add a unique and stylish design element to a room. It can be used to create an accent wall, a focal point, or to add texture and dimension to a space. The installation process for walls differ from that of floors, so it's recommended to consult with a professional installer. The adhesive used to install the chevron flooring on walls should be suitable for vertical applications and able to support the weight of the planks.
