London Bridge Inn Bespoke Wood Floor Project
When JW Lees set out to breathe new life into the London Bridge Inn in Stockton Heath, Warrington, they envisioned a space that was both rich in heritage and excitingly contemporary. Following a £700,000 refurbishment, the pub now embodies that vision – comfortable, welcoming, and infused with local charm. At the heart of this transformation lies the work of JackEvie, whose bespoke wood flooring and wall cladding solutions became an integral part of the design story.
What sets JackEvie apart is their ability to mix and match custom oak flooring styles, patterns, and colours from across their collections, creating one-off designs tailored to each client’s specifications. This approach allows a client to fall in love with a colourway from one range but opt for the technical format of another – and with JackEvie, that’s entirely possible. The London Bridge Inn is a perfect showcase of this flexibility.

For one area of the pub, the design team at JW Lees selected a trio of colours from the Newport Collection – Brynton Close, Blackash Lane, and Juniper Avenue – each used in equal measure to form striking geometric diamond designs. Blackash Lane’s deep, smoky tones were paired with Juniper Avenue’s lively grain and mid-tones, while Brynton Close’s lighter oak shade provided contrast. Together, these three distinct tones create a captivating three-dimensional diamond effect, giving the floor an almost sculpted appearance that shifts subtly depending on where you stand, alive with visual intrigue from every angle.

In contrast, herringbone sections within the pub showcase a different side of JackEvie’s craftsmanship. The specification of Lowfield Lane from the Antique Collection was paired with colours inspired by the Artisan Collection. By blending the structure of one herringbone range with the tones of another, JackEvie demonstrated how their products can be adapted to fit a very specific aesthetic brief – a solution that’s as creative as it is technically precise.

The design journey didn’t stop at the floor. Rustic wall cladding added another layer of texture and character, with Cathedral Place planks from The Shire Collection and Hookgate Park planks from the Loggerheads Collection applied in key areas. The combination of distressed, mixed-width planks and antique finishes adds a tactile richness, enhancing the pub’s welcoming atmosphere.

The result is a seamless interplay between pattern, texture, and tone – diamond flooring flowing into herringbone, with rustic wall cladding framing each space – all made possible by JackEvie’s unique ability to tailor products across their collections. This pub interior refurbishment proves that with the right creative vision, and a supplier willing to adapt without limits, a venue’s flooring can become far more than just a surface to walk on. It becomes a central part of the atmosphere and visual identity.
If you’re a commercial interior designer seeking total creative freedom, a contractor looking for adaptable solutions, or a pub group owner wanting to make a statement with your interiors, JackEvie can bring your vision to life.
